50-50 Book Black is a uniquely successful hybrid formulation derived from our Nova and Sigma Heatset Web Offset Blacks. As its name implies, 50-50 is an even mixture of the two inks. 50-50 offers you the best features of both inks combined into one. 50-50 has slip, scuff resistance, blue tone and tack similar to Nova, yet the smoothness, density, economy, and excellent drying ability of Sigma Black. 50-50 was formulated for use on offset stock, absorbent textbook stocks, forms stock, and newsprint stock where a semi-gloss ink excels in printability. On no heat presses, 50-50 can be used without heat assist because of its excellent setting properties, especially if you are planning on printing on an absorbent stock. Without heat, 50-50 will provide a non-marring finish within minutes similar to a quickset ink, but at a fraction of the cost. To improve your flexibility, 50-50 is available in a variety of tacks. Also, 50-50 "SB" is offered with a slightly gelled body, so that it can be handled in buckets as well. See the following chart for more information about 50-50 Book Black.
