RadionBase MDEC Opaque White is a special-purpose dispersion of Rutile Titanium Dioxide (White 6) pigment in a 100% acrylic vehicle for energy cured (UV or EB) paste inks. RadionBase MDEC Opaque White can be used as the sole colorant for making a Background White ink for Quickset/Sheetfed Lithographic metal decorating or for printing on non-porous plastic substrates where flexibility and adhesion are very important as characteristics.
Typically used to make color ink tints, 45% to 65% of RadionBase MDEC Opaque White by total formula weight is considered a normal loading for most paste ink formulas. Excellent results for metal decorating and plastic film ink formulas can be obtained by blending RadionBase MDEC dispersions with Radion Vehicle MDEC letdown vehicle. Additionally, RadionBase MDEC Opaque White can be used as a bleaching white for testing ink strengths. RadionBase MDEC series bases can be used for mercury UV, HUV, and LED UV formulas.
