RadionBase MDEC Black is a special-purpose dispersion of Carbon Black (Black 7) pigment in a 100% acrylic vehicle for energy cured (UV or EB) paste inks. RadionBase MDEC Black can be used as the sole colorant for making a Process Black ink for Quickset/Sheetfed Lithographic metal decorating or for printing on non-porous plastic substrates where flexibility and adhesion are very important as characteristics.

 

Typically used to make Process Black inks, 45% to 65% of RadionBase MDEC Black by total formula weight is considered a normal loading for most paste ink formulas. Excellent results for metal decorating  and plastic film ink formulas can be obtained by blending RadionBase MDEC dispersions with Radion Vehicle MDEC letdown vehicle. Additionally, inks made with RadionBase MDEC Black can be made more "dense" by the incorporation of 4%-10% RadionBase MDEC Carbazole Violet or 4%-10% RadionBase MDEC Phthalocyanine Blue or a combination of both bases. RadionBase MDEC series bases can be used for mercury UV, HUV, and LED UV formulas. ​
