RadionBase PBX Methyl Violet is a radiation-curable dispersion of 31% PTMA Methyl Violet (Pigment Violet 3) in a mixed oligomer system. This vehicle system has been optimized for use in paper and board, with possible applications in surface-treated or oxidized films as well. Recommended dosage of RadionBase PBX Methyl Violet is 36%-50% by weight in a finished ink. RadionBase PBX series energy-curable bases feature soft easy-to-handle viscosity with excellent pigmentation levels.

Typically used to make mixing Violet inks or used as a toner in black inks to improve their blueness of shade, 36% to 50% of RadionBase PBX methyl Violet by total formula weight is considered a normal loading for most paste ink formulas. Excellent results for coated and uncoated stock litho & web offset ink formulas can be obtained by blending RadionBase PBX dispersions with Radion Vehicle UVP composite letdown varnish. As a toner, used 3%-12% of RadionBase PBX Methyl Violet to tone black inks. RadionBase PBX series bases can be used for mercury UV, HUV, and LED UV formulas. ​
