Nova Extender is actually a transparent heatset "ink" designed to be used as the transparent white ink for the Nova 4 "PS" series mixing colors. Use Nova Extender to make pastels and tints. Although Nova Extender is technically an ink vehicle, it has the tack and rheology of an ink and contains all the ingredients necessary to print successfully by itself. Nova Extender contains 2% PTFE wax for excellent scuff resistance. Overprint varnishes and coatings should be applied in-line due to the higher content of PTFE wax in this product.

Other Uses for Nova Extender:

• With slight dilution with heatset solvent such as Solvex 525, it is entirely possible to use Nova Extender as a heatset overprint varnish. 

• Nova Extender can also be used successfully as a letdown vehicle in combination with heatset flushes to make a finished heatset ink.
