K-4 base black is a low-viscosity dispersion of 23.3% carbon black in a heatset vehicle. K-4 Base Black is best used for gloss heatset web offset inks in loadings of 65-80% by total formula weight. K-4 responds well to freeflowing hydrocarbon resin gel vehicles with high gloss and print jetness, further rewarding the formulator with lowest cost to manufacture.
Using high percentages of K-4 base black in heatset ink formulas allows for low cost and excellent print jetness.
