Econotherm Extender FAST LMX heatset mid-gel vehicle is best used for making high speed heatset web offset inks that need a good balance of viscosity versus ink flow without experiencing misting due to high press speeds. Consider using Econotherm Extender FAST LMX when press speeds run from 1500-3000 FPM (500-800 Meters/Min).

Just like our Utiligel line of heatset web Gel vehicles, Econotherm Extender FAST LMX is made of hard, high-melt gelled resin and a faster-drying blend of heatset solvents for excellent drying at the highest press speeds, Econotherm Extender FAST LMX has only minimal plasticizers, modifiers, or vegetable oils. Thus, Econotherm Extender FAST LMX maximizes drying performance without hurting any other important properties such as water pickup or scuff resistance. Econotherm Extender FAST LMX can be used as a sole letdown vehicle in many heatset web offset ink  formulas.

Most importantly, Utiligel FAST LT features high viscosity with a moderate tack (under 12 points @ 1200 RPM, Thwing-Albert Model 101). You can make inks with a tack as low as 6 points or as high as 15 points @ 1200 RPM that still "hold up" under high shear.
