An outgrowth of our original Utiligel G 14  economy-priced, heavy gel heatset vehicle... Econotherm FAST C16 is the low-viscosity version of Utiligel G 14 heatset web offset vehicle. Econotherm FAST C16 is ideal for extending mid-tack, low-mist finished heatset web offset inks with a truly low cost, low-mist extender vehicle. The inclusion of a specially treated clay pigment  provides both a soft gel, low-misting, and low ink/water emulsification properties to Econotherm FAST C16, and accomplishes all this at a remarkably low cost.

Econotherm FAST C16 should not be used as a sole letdown vehicle in any low-tack heatset web offset ink formulation, but is compatible with a wide variety of other heatset ink vehicles such as free-flow, heavy gel, or alkyd-based vehicles, bases and flushes if higher tack is desired in the finished ink without sacrificing economy. The recommended limit of Econotherm FAST C16 is about 15% of total formula weight

Econotherm FAST C16  features low viscosity with a low tack (under 11 points @ 1200 RPM, Thwing-Albert Model 101). You can easily make inks with a tack as low as 7 points @ 1200 RPM that still "hold up" under high shear and won't cause misting.
