40 Plus™ ECO Base Black

40 Plus ECO Base Black is a VOC-free dispersion of 41% offset-grade, glossy carbon black. 40 Plus ECO Base Black can be used for such purposes as high adhesion inks for plastic surfaces and also for folding box inks in addition to ecologically sound publication and commercial offset formulations. 40 Plus ECO Base Black is also very suitable for any no heat web offset formulation and can be made laser-compatible with the addition of a very small amount of metallic drier. Product viscosity is relatively low, meaning that inks can be made easily using lower-power mixing equipment. 40 Plus ECO Base has about 41% bio-renewable content.

40 Plus ECO Base Black base forms the backbone of all of Kerley's "EcoBrite" VOC-free black sheetfed inks. All of the oil-based portion of 40 Plus ECO Base Black is drier-reactive, meaning that all of 40 Plus ECO Base Black will polymerize quickly to a solid film, provided driers are added and the printed film is exposed to adequate air. 40 Plus ECO Base Black has very superb drying/curing characteristics. When storing 40 Plus ECO Base Black, keep it covered with skin paper or a light layer of spray-on vegetable oil.
