Utiligel™ G 14 extra heavy gel heatset web Vehicle
Soybeans Soya Beans

A very large range of ink vehicles is made by Kerley Ink. We have what you are looking for...

An outgrowth of our original Utiligel C 15 economy-priced, heavy gel heatset vehicle... Utiligel G 14 is a unique, low-mist version of Utiligel heatset web offset vehicle. Utiligel G 14 is ideal for making low-tack, low-mist finished heatset web offset inks. The inclusion of a specially treated clay pigment  provides both a short, thick gel, low-misting, and low ink/water emulsification properties to Utiligel G 14, and accomplishes all this at a very low cost.

Utiligel G 14 can be used as a sole letdown vehicle in any low-tack heatset web offset ink formulation, but is compatible with a wide variety of other heatset ink vehicles such as free-flow, heavy gel, or alkyd-based vehicles, bases and flushes if higher tack and longer flow is desired in the finished ink.

Utiligel brand heatset letdown vehicle is called the "Web Offset Workhorse" for one major reason: it is the one vehicle you'll need to produce just about any low- tack web offset heatset ink you can think of. Utiligel G 14 excels at producing low- & mid-tack heatset ink formulas with fast drying and especially low misting.

Utiligel's uniqueness stems from its simple formula. Consisting of hard, high-melt gelled resin and a faster-drying blend of heatset solvents, Utiligel has only minimal plasticizers, modifiers, or vegetable oils. Thus, Utiligel G 14 even further  maximizes drying performance without hurting any other important properties such as water pickup or scuff resistance. Consider using Utiligel G 14 when press speeds run from 1500-3000 FPM (500-800 Meters/Min). Utiligel G 14 is good for developing low-misting inks at mid-tacks, also.

Most importantly, Utiligel G 14 features high viscosity with a low tack (under 8 points @ 1200 RPM, Thwing-Albert Model 101). You can easily  make inks with a tack as low as 6 points @ 1200 RPM that still "hold up" under high shear.
