ThermaGard™ HG Gloss Heatset OPV
Above: the delivery end of a high-speed heatset web offset printing press. This is the area of a web offset press where the performance of an overprint varnish (OPV) is most critical. Count on Kerley Ink for superior protection here!
ThermaGard HG GLOSS heatset overprint varnish is Kerley's premium, high-gloss, low-color overprint varnish for the highest quality applications that require a non-yellowing finish. ThermaGard HG GLOSS contains PTFE, so dried films have excellent scuff resistance right from the delivery end of the press. ThermaGard HG GLOSS OPV is formulated to be used in the press fountain, just like an ink. This means that ThermaGard HG GLOSS varnish can also be used a “spot” varnish for selective application of varnish on the printed sheet.
ThermaGard HG GLOSS also contains Tung Oil (aka: Chinawood Oil), enabling the film to continue to air-cure after heat-setting to a very hard, yet flexible and more chemically-resistant film. Consequently, ThermaGard HG GLOSS OPV does not accept lamination or stamping readily (please see our wax free offerings). ThermaGard HG GLOSS, when properly applied and adequately air-cured, is capable of withstanding rub tests of several thousand strokes, especially if a small amount of drier such as our “Litho Dri CO 6” is added at press-side. Contains micronized PTFE, which must be stirred from the bottom of any container before usage.
ThermaGard HG GLOSS contains 38% bio/renewable materials.
