Speedex ink/water balances improved...

In order to improve overall performance in the Speedex line of fast-setting, stay -open sheetfed colors, we've had to make some modifications to the ink/water balance of certain Speedex base colors. The improvements won't be noticeable for short runs, but on long runs Speedex inks will retain flow and will not be prone to backing off or piling. Some printers reported that they had to "push" the ink on jobs with more than 12,000-15,000 impressions. Viscosity, tack, and setting speed have not been affected in any of the Speedex base colors as a result of these improvements. Really!

Tentative pricing for Super VersaLith...

As work on the Super VersaLith universal ink concentrate/base project wraps up, pricing has been announced. As you may remember, Super VersaLith is a faster-setting and considerably stronger (10 percent more pigment) upgrade to the old standard "VersaLith" series of wax-free, drier-free sheetfed base inks. If you are an inkmaker, distributor or reseller of inks, e-mail us at marketing@kerleyink.com for more information about pricing for the new Super VersaLith series.

Kerley announces Super VersaLith universal base inks ready to go...

If you've read our 1997 Catalog or seen the interactive version here, you may have noticed that we're phasing out the VersaLith "PBS" series of sheetfed base color inks and introducing a major upgrade:

Super VersaLith

Like the VersaLith family, Super VersaLith will be a wax-free, drier-free series with some BIG improvements over old VersaLith. First, we've sped up the drying time considerably. What tooks hours with VersaLith now takes minutes with Super VersaLith!

Next, we increased overall strength by 10 percent, meaning you can make an even greater variety of inks--from sheetfed to business forms, newsinks, and even heatsets! You couldn't do that with old VersaLith. Super VersaLith will have the tack (about 15 points @ 1200) of an ink, the body of an ink, but the versatility of a flush.

True to our word, we're almost completely done with development work and are now ready to start field testing. Work on the process colors has been finished for a while now, and the rest of the mixing colors are coming along nicely.

If you're interested in field-testing Super VersaLith process colors and black, please request "Big Super VersaLith Samples" by e-mail or FAX. If you want to see lab-sized samples first, please request "Little Super VersaLith Samples" by e-mail or FAX. Don't miss out on this true innovation!

Kerley announces new litho overprint varnish...

A new, faster setting version of Kerley's LithoGard overprint varnish will soon be making its way to market. "LithoGard SST" promises to reduce the time printers will have to wait before being able to handle jobs overprinted with earlier versions of LithoGard overprint varnish. LithoGard SST reduces setting time down to less than 15 minutes, without compromising the other great features of LithoGard overprint varnishes. We've managed to keep great gloss and rub characteristics with LithoGard SST. If you're an inkmaker interested in trying a free sample, please call or E-Mail us and we'll be happy to make arrangements to send you trial LithoGard SST at no charge!
