Ultraviolet-Cured Sheetfed & Web Ink
One of our pet projects over the past few years has been the in-house development of a set of ultraviolet light-curable process colors and black. Our ultimate aim is to produce a rock-solid product that we thoroughly understand ourselves and therefore can assist both our re-sellers and end-users with skilled and certain technical expertise.
Among the product features of the Radion™ Sheetfed and Web systems will be an in-house developed photoinitiator package, controlled rheology, reduced misting and balanced, predictable water pickup. Both the sheetfed and web systems will employ tack ranges much closer to conventional inks, thus expanding the range of paper substrates which will work well with Radion.
We plan to initially package Radion in both 55 gallon drums, 3.5 gallon plastic kits and 1 Gallon plastic kits.
We anticipate having a simple sheetfed offset system of process colors available by the end of the first quarter of 2010, and a web offset system available sometime in the third quarter of 2010.
